Rules of Football chess

8×16 football/chess prototype with animated pieces, centre-ball kickoff, formations, pawns, offside, AI, copyable debug logs, checked board, merged move/tackle action, defender-chosen tackle pushes, queen goal restriction, keeper boxes, goalkeeper long balls, custom piece display, team colours, and full-game replay.

One move/tackle and one pass/shot per turn. Hover the selected piece for Move/Tackle, Pass/Shoot, and End turn shortcuts.
The ball starts loose at E8. Move onto it to collect.
Only knights jump. Rooks, bishops, queens, kings, and pawns need a clear lane for moves, passes, and shots.
If a move is illegal, the UI explains why: occupied target, blocked path, wrong bishop colour, or wrong chess movement.
Shots may target any legal empty square. Non-goal shots leave the ball loose.
Tackles use the move/tackle action slot: select Move/Tackle and click the ball carrier. The tackled team chooses any highlighted adjacent PUSH square. The tackler moves into the carrier's square; the carrier is pushed to the chosen legal square.
Pawns pass/shoot one square forward or one square diagonally forward, matching their normal move/capture directions. Passes into the attacking half can be offside if the receiver is ahead of the ball and beyond the second-last defender.
The Queen can shoot, pass, and create loose balls, but she cannot score goals directly.
Each defence has a keeper box around its own goal: B–G across the first two ranks. Only that team’s King may stand there, and the King cannot leave it. Opponent attackers may enter the box.
Saved or blocked goal shots give possession to the goalkeeper/defender. If a King saves a shot or collects the loose ball, he unlocks one goalkeeper long ball: up to 10 squares straight or diagonal, over pieces. Shots outside the goal mouth simply leave the ball loose.
Full replay visually resets to the kickoff position first, then replays every animation.
